This page outlines the mission and origin of Emsworth.org, a platform designed to provide comprehensive local knowledge about Emsworth. It highlights the founder's personal connection to the town and the importance of making community insights accessible to everyone.
The goal of Emsworth.org is to serve as a comprehensive information hub, making valuable local knowledge easily accessible to both residents and visitors of Emsworth. We aim to answer frequently asked questions and share insights that often remain hidden in the collective memory of our community.
As a lifelong resident of Emsworth (with brief sojourns elsewhere), my connection to this incredible town runs deep. Born here, well in the local Portsmouth Hospital, leaving as a teenager and returned during Covid after exploring various places worldwide, I can confidently say that no other place resonates with me quite like Emsworth.
The inspiration for this project traces back to a memorable encounter at the traditional Emsworth August Bank Holiday show, where, as a young child, I met Grant Thomas, a local resident who had established Emsworth's first web portal. Even after 30+ years later, I continue to discover new aspects of our town, highlighting the wealth of information waiting to be shared.
Despite being a long-term resident, I've realised there's always more to learn about our town. This website bridges the gap between the knowledge held by long-time residents and the curiosity of newcomers and visitors, ensuring that the rich tapestry of Emsworth's community life is accessible to all.
